The Denver Board authorized purchase of new stone for the First Creek Cabin, replacing defective ones, the cost of which is to be paid for by charging those who use the cabin 50¢ a night. It is hoped the cross-country skiers will take advantage of this nice cabin that accommodates ten people.

Huerfano Notes: Nine members of the club enjoyed a day’s outing at Turkey Creek in the Greenhorn range. A hike was taken up the peak trail to the high point where snow covered the mountains. After lunch was eaten in a piñon grove, the party climbed to rocky ridges looking for arrows at two old campsites.

The 40th anniversary dinner is scheduled in Denver at the Daniels & Fisher Tea Room.

Boulder Notes: Much rain happened this past summer, with the result that trips were not quite as well attended as in the previous summer. A total of approximately 3,000 people went into the hills and the high country under the guidance of the Recreation Department. Some trips were held in the fall, including a group of 24 to Isabelle Lake to hunt for a new cabin site for the club.

In September, the Fort Collins Group hiked up in Poudre Canyon while the aspens were in their full glory. The following weekend they went up near Cameron Pass and stayed in their new log cabin overnight, waking up to a view with new snow surrounding them. P
