Updates on CMC Education’s Youth in Wilderness project A trip to the mountains can be the adventure of a lifetime for a 10- or 11-year-old from northwest Denver. Commonplace mountain experiences for CMC members, such as seeing a marmot or hiking through a misty landscape, watching a herd of elk or carrying a daypack with water, lunch, a rain poncho and other mountain essentials, are amazing events in the lives of youth who have never before hiked a trail. The Youth Education Program has been working with several schools from northwest Denver, offering activities at their campus and field trips to the mountains. Throughout the summer, the CMC will continue to provide mountain experiences to Denver’s youth.
