Culebra - Trip Announcement

The participant list for Culebra 2004 has been finalized.

In order to submit your name for future consideration you must have climbed 53 Colorado fourteeners. If you qualify, you may call the office at 303.279.3080 x 2.

The Colorado Mountain Club is pleased to announce two climbs of Culebra Peak (14,047') and one climb of both Culebra and Red Mountain (13,908') for summer, 2004. The CMC has negotiated these climbs with the privately owned Culebra Ranch on the west side of the peaks.

The Culebra/Red Mountain climb will be Friday, August 27. About half of the slots on the 27th will be set aside for those who have done Culebra and are now seeking the 100 highest.

The Culebra only climbs will be Saturday and Sunday, August 28 & 29, and are not open to those who have previously climbed Culebra. Slots will be allocated first to those individuals who were eligible for the lottery the past two years, but were not selected. We don't want to keep those persons waiting any longer. CMC staff is in process of identifying those persons from the Culebra data bases and initiating contact to determine interest.
