Treasury Mountain, 13.462'

    July 4, 1999

We drove from Crested Butte via 4-wheel drive roads to the Paradise Divide above 11,000'. There are nice car camping spots there. We then followed an old jeep road to Yule Pass. There were still a couple steep snowfields one needs to crosson this trail, hence an ice axe was handy. From there, we climbed on large talus up the SW side. The final E ridge to the summit is more interesting and fairly solid. We came down the E ridge to its low point between Cinnamon Mtn and dropped down from there to the Yule Pass trail. This ridge consists almost entirely of small compacted rubble which makes for an easy descent.
