Black Mountain-11,840

Highpoint of Moffatt County- From the trailhead this is an easy gradual climb through forest, with the last being steep with 3 switchbacks. Snow not a problem, although there were many "piles" on the flat summit. These were easily circumvented. It was difficult to discern the highpoint, although we did see a cairn along the trail, which was probably it.Perhaps the real cairn was under snow as the one we found was farther than Dave and John's book ("Hiking Colorado's Summits") suggested. Great views, great weather, bad bugs.
