"Unite the energy, interest, and knowledge of the students, explorers, and lovers of the mountains of Colorado."The Colorado Mountain Club (CMC) is the premier outdoor club in the Rocky Mountain Region. The CMC covers the entire spectrum of human powered mountain activities to provide as many avenues of expression for our members as possible. From the high adventure of scaling an ice tower to the beauty of an afternoon nature walk, we do it all. Statewide, the CMC sponsors some 3,000 separate mountain activities annually. The CMC is much more than a hiking club. The Club offers members a wide variety of activities including: conservation programs; trail work; educational opportunities; publications; access to the largest mountaineering library in the western hemisphere; natural history programs; and social activities. A small sample of these are open to the public and listed on our public calendar. All members receive the Club's magazine " Trail & Timberline" containing event notices, reviews, conservation articles, Club news, and recreation articles. Two activity schedules are published each year for summer and winter to list the mountain activities available for members. CMC has something for all of the students, explorers and lovers of the mountains of Colorado. GroupsThe CMC is organized into local groups around the state including one for members living outside of Colorado called "Friends of Colorado". The local groups provide mountain activities, programs, newsletters and educational opportunities for members. Please see the Groups page for information about a group near you and requesting a membership application. Within this web site you can find information on our activities,
schools, special interest sections,
and a calendar of activities open to the
public. We also offer membership information programs in Golden. Please
call (303) 279-3080 for the time of the next membership program or check
our calendar. Join A Group |
