Special Interest Sections of the Denver Group

The Colorado Mountain Club (CMC) has sections for members with special interests to meet others with the same interests. All of these sections schedule activities, from programs to trips and schools, in their area of interest. Some of the sections have their own newsletter to communicate with their members. Although a section may have a newsletter, most of their activities are announced in the Activity Schedule and are open to all CMC members.

• Backpacking Section arranges backpack trips listed in the activity schedule and the Mile High Mountaineer.

• Fly Fishing
• Free Heel Skiing Section is for members interested in backcountry skiing, including telemark ski tours. The section organizes hut tours, overnight winter camping trips, yurt overnights, and other activities. Trips are listed in the activity schedule and the Mile High Mountaineer.
• High Altitude Mountaineering
• Ice Skating
• Photography Section
• Summit Seekers Section of the Denver Group for 40-55 age group.
• Technical Climbing
• Trailblazers - section of the Denver Group for the 20-40 age group (plus or minus a few).
• Trail Running Section
• Volleyball Section offers volleyball games both winter and summer.
